Fatih Umdu was born in 1998 in Istanbul. He is a photographer, interested in music and literature. He creates strong bonds with writing in his visual grammar. The idea of fictionalizing everyday life is the core element in his way of image making. He intentionally avoids documenting the daily life as is and creates fictional situations in both his still images and films. His eager motivation of manipulating these bizarre moments of life originates from the deep connection with the realm of literature. Umdu, who received his Mimar Sinan Fine Arts in 2023, participated in various exhibitions in Turkey. The artist currently lives and works in Istanbul.
